1month summer vacation recap

This summer I had a to do list of things that needed to get done around the house. I am proud to say that we have accomplished them all. Now I get to move on to new things. My list included
•finishing the steps of the deck
•making a handrail for the deck
•sealing the deck
•paint the living room
•and greatest of all... FIX THE BATHROOM FLOOR

To kick things off we celebrated my nephews birthday with a fishing party. This party turned into all of us adults "fishing" and the kids swimming. I say it like that because no one caught anything after the kids started swimming and kyler scot never touched a fishing pole the whole party, that little bigger. Thankfully it wasn't too hot and the company was good. Wish we could all get together more often. Here are some pictures.

This little bugger got a nintendo 3DS, a new fishing pole, an art easel, canvases to paint on, a book a bout farts, and all kinds of other odds and ends! He MUST be special!

Then it was grandma Peggy's birthday! We had the whole family to the shady rest for dinner and good conversation.

After this we had mothers day which somehow snuck by with no pictures. We gave momma a "turtle bug"..as we call it... With some petunias that died :/ and we ate at the Mexican restaurant! It was yummy.

Then it was time to get started in the home projects. We first started on finishing the stairs to the deck that my dad and I built last summer. And finishing the hand railing so I could seal the deck with thompson's water seal.

Then I started the project of repainting the living room because I knew I could handle this on my own even if it took a while to complete. It just had to be done because the color that was on the wall previously made me feel like I lived in a dungeon. It made me very sad. The new color makes me pretty happy.
This took me about 2 weeks.... Yes that's a long time but I took breaks in between to hang out with friends and do other different things. Plus I had to do small sections so Nate could help me move pieces of furniture out of the way.

Then our last project on the list was to fix the bathroom. We had a water leak years ago when we bought the house and fixed it but the moisture barrier was still open. Needless to say, condensation was coming up and rotting our bathroom flooring. It was bubbled up in sections and weak in other sections. We had to do the side step shuffle to maneuver around. So we finally cut the old flooring out, put in new sub floor, scrapped the old floor off and laid new linoleum flooring. It is soo much better in there and I only want to side step walk every now and then now! Hehe
So then we had NATE'S birthday which kicked off his week long vacation with me. We had a birthday cook out with steak, baked potatoes, and salad....best of all we had HOMEMADE pound cake and icing in the shape of a target and a glock 19 pistol. We had a wonderful time and Nate received lots of gun accessories since he has become a an avid gun person in the last year. He got targets, bullets, cases, oil...almost anything you could think of for guns.

We were supposed to start our week off by cutting the flooring out of the bathroom and getting on our way on the project so we could get that out of the way and get on with relaxing and doing whatever we wish. Well, the weather had another plan for us and it decided to rain Monday and Tuesday. So we sat at home watching movies and just hanging out. Then we started the bathroom on Wednesday...cut out the floor...went to Lowe's for materials...then worked til about 3 am on it. Needless to say we slept in Thursday morning and then showered and got ready for our massage appointment. We went to the Forum Spa for the first time. They sent us to changing rooms to change into these awesome robes...then sat us in a seating area where they offered us wine and water and gave us a complimentary salt foot soak. It was already amazingly relaxing. I thought getting robes and wine at the spa were only things you see on TV for people in larger cities but  I think I have found my place and can't wait to go back.

We then finished our bathroom floor on Friday. Relaxed on Saturday and headed to the beach on Sunday. We went to the Bodies Revealed exhibit, which has preserved bodies in scientific positions to be able to see all the bones, muscles, organs, arteries...EVERYTHING. ..it was amazing. They had signs up around giving you facts about different things and it was amazing for me to realize that I already knew a lot of that stuff...nursing school is teaching me something after all...how about that? LOL
Then we walked around Broadway at the Beach and played ski ball in the arcade...we won enough tickets for 2 plastic rings and a Chinese finger trap. Then we got pixie sticks and fudge at the fudgery. On the way back around we made a pit stop (pun intended) at the Ride Makerz store for Nate to make a car. It was pretty fun in there.

He made it in a minute...WHEW i didn't know if he would..lol

Here's a few other things that have been going on this summer. Flowers...trying to keeps them alive and growing. Also mom made me these wonderful fun signs to livin up my deck area!!! We have also planted a garden and we watch it like 5 million times a day but I don't have any pictures of that at this time. I hope the rest of the summer is as eventful as this half!!! :)

Smart Easy spring cleaning from bzzagent!

This morning I received my bzzagent kit for a spring cleaning campaign that I signed up for last week. I received a full bottle of Pledge lemon scented, a full bottle of Scrubbing Bubbles mega foam shower, Scrubbing Bubbles toilet cleaner, a Glade candle in an awesome scent called sparkle of spring, and a glade scented plugIns oil in the scent of Crisp waters. This stuff couldn't have come at a better time. I have just a few days of spring break left before I head back to FMU for the last half of my first semester of Nursing school so just in time for me to freshen up my house for the next six weeks.

So already this morning I have my sparkle of spring candle lit in my guest bathroom and it smells wonderful when I walk by. I also have dusted my living room and bedroom with the pledge lemon scent and I have to say it gives the feeling and scent of clean and fresh when you walk through. I plan on hitting the shower with the mega foam later this afternoon and also my toilet. I will have to wait to try my crisp water plug in because I do not have a warmer for it, but not to worry because I got a booklet of coupons and plan on finding one on sale soon and trying that out also.

Let me know if you have tried any of these products already and what you think about them. Are they what they advertised to be and you love them or did they fall short for you? All feelings are welcome! After-all how will the companies know that their products stink or are amazing if we don't tell them?

These are the things I received! Happy Spring cleaning to you!

Welcome to my blog!

So I have been a member of this website called bzzagent.com since I was about 15 or 16 years old. On this site companies pay the bzzagent company to market their products and to get honest feedback for them. You sign up and of course fill in your interests and demographics. Then you will continue to take surveys so they will better understand the things you are passionate about and send you invitations to their bzz campaigns. I have received full bottles of Ralph Lauren perfume, lipsticks, cereals, bath products, home products...you name it I have possibly tried it out. So I would like to use this blog as a way of telling you guys about the great things I receive and sharing my opinions about them! I would also like to hear your opinions of what you think and if you'd like to try these products also!
